Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurosurgery ICU (Evening/Night)

Location:  Madison, WI 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide intensive care to patients with acute neurological conditions, including post-neurosurgical care.
• Monitor patients using intracranial pressure (ICP) and hemodynamic monitoring tools.
• Care for patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and spinal cord injuries.
• Float to other units as needed, based on staffing demands and hospital requirements.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 3 years).
  • Experience with ICP monitoring or ventricular drains.
  • Previous experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similarly sized facility.
  • Must have successfully completed at least one traveler assignment (13 weeks).

• Licensure & Certification:

  • Active WI nursing license or compact state license.
  • BLS/ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Must pass UW Health’s Telemetry test before the start date (required for ICU roles).
